Vintage mid-century linen tablecloth or centerpiece 34x34
After WWII, women everywhere were breaking out of the years of austerity and entertaining again. Pretty linens were everywhere and especially linen tablecloths. They were used on the breakfast table, card parties and any other excuse to bring out nice things that were suddenly available again. This cloth is made of soft, smooth, cool to the touch "natural color" linen. Not quite white which means it can be used in less formal settings. Each corner has a simple almost geometric motif with a small cutwork design and padded satin stitch motif and hand hemstitched inner border with a few smaller motifs added. Finished with fancy hand hemstitch at the outer edges. This tablecloth topper or centerpiece isn't very fussy and appeals to many for it's simplicity, color and design. A beautiful setting for a floral centerpiece.
